H Street Corridor
What was originally a bland gut renovation with a modern palette, came to life thanks to this wonderful family that wasn’t afraid of color, pattern and unique details to bring loads of personality to this historical location.
We restored the classic charm to this home, adding historic details with a pressed tin ceiling, vintage doors and hardware, and antique furniture. The kitchen is a statement room, filling the middle of the home in a rich blue, and designed with practical solutions for family living in limited space. The third floor was reimagined as a cohesive kid zone with “Jack and Jill” bedrooms, mirroring design elements, connected by a playroom with a jungle mural wallpaper.
In addition to a moody primary suite, we found opportunities to create bold moments in unexpected places, such as a wallpapered laundry room with marble checkered floors and with a custom statement wet bar in the basement.
6th Street Sophistication
The owners of this home were two bustling professionals, creating a home together with their established personal tastes. Focusing on the first floor as a comfortable entertaining and lounging space, we created an open plan living and dining scheme. Our design included his and hers home offices, a serene guest suite wrapped in a dreamy mural wallpaper, and an elegant dressing room off the master. This gorgeous Capitol Hill home already had such beautiful bones and with the addition of lovely finishes and furnishings we were able to capture this couple’s desire to have a home that feels both luxurious and inviting.
Capitol Hill Refresh
Such a joy to work with this wonderful family, making the most of their Capitol Hill Row House! Some of the goals we set out to accomplish included establishing a cozy family room, inviting entry, total master bedroom update and a delightful bedroom for their two adorable daughters to share (with a special request of using their favorite colors- light blue and magenta!)
Inviting Guest Room
We were able to transform my client’s daughter’s former teenage bedroom into a beautiful “adult” guest room. My client (who shares my love of rich colors) wanted to have a space for visitors to feel pampered with a boutique experience during their Capitol Hill stay in her home…which her sweet kitty can attest to :)
Ensuite Bathrooms
With our historic homes in Capitol Hill, we are constantly trying to determine how to utilize every inch to the fullest. So adding in an additional ensuite bathroom to these homes was no small feat, but the results were a game changer for these clients!
